Grönstedts Blue (Swedish Punsch)


Grönstedts Blå. Very taste schnaps, golden yellow, very sweet and strong arrack taste. First produced in 1834 in Stockholm. The Swedes invented the Punsch and it's mostly Swedes who drink it today. From the 18th century and on to the mid 20th century a large consumtion of Punsch were made in Sweden. More than fifteen times per person than today. To a large extent this was due to that the home-distilling periodicaly was forbidden. Nor was it connected with sex or class - everyone could drink Punsch. The different Punsch barnds were many any seperated themselves with creative names such as the Phone-Punsch, Household-Punsch, Cavalry-Punsch and even Sport-Punsch and Car-Punsch. Served chilled as avec. Alcoholic strenght 26% vol.
